Tom Fords Adaptation



Tom Ford Create his own adaptation of the film a single man in the film released in 2009.

It was Fords first directed film and stars Colin Firth, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of George Falconer.






Renowned fashion designer Tom Ford, a first-time director, financed the film himself. The film places emphasis on the culture of the 1960s; the production design is by the same team that designed AMC television's Mad Men, which is set in the same era. The film was shot in just 21 days.

Ford talks about the vividness and poignance of George's final day on earth as he plans to commit suicide, seeing things like its the first time, that in every day life passes us by. Ford wants us to come away living everyday as though its our last, not missing whats around us.
